with the weather being so vile recently, I thought it was about time to chase the grey away and inject some extra colour in my day, so it was great to learn that the whitworth art gallery in manchester was hosting an exhibition by the textile artist tibor reich… and mr reich can definitely do colour! born in budapest, reich studied in vienna before moving to britain and starting tibor ltd. here he used photography to help create amazing textiles with colour and pattern. his talents weren’t limited to printed textiles, he created ceramics, rugs and his own house was a wonder of new building techniques and innovative materials. check out the exhibition if you get chance, it’s on until august. for a taster have a look at my photos below…
